Hells Bells turned it on in sunny Queensland

Picture perfect weather and a fast paced race made for an awesome weekend of adventure racing.  Teams, athletes, former race directors and the dot watchers have all made the call this race has returned to its glory days and put on one of the best adventure races in years.

It had everything from boogie boarding (of course its Queensland) to island hopping and coasteering to some epic single track trails and an amazing sprint finish for the podium, with only a couple of minutes separating first and second.  Once again Team Thunderbolt proved to be the team to beat edging out Peak Adventure in what was a heartbreaking turn of events that led to Peak Adventure giving up a very healthy lead..

This will no doubt continue to be a classic rivalry for many years to come.  The other big name teams from down south who made the journey, BMX bandits and CBRAR both came in 3rd and 4th.

There were over 20 of the 2 person teams competing in the full course with another great battle for the podium between Gary Sutherlands Tiger Adventure Team and Paul Elby in Peaky Brothers.  They traded the lead several times with Peaky brothers coming out on top.

These 2 person teams do not quality for Team category points in the A1 Series (hence "0" points on results), but athletes qualify for the A1 Guest Club...So welcome to the A1 Club community.

Congratulations to all athletes and a big thanks to Chris Dixon from Wild and Co for hosting Race 03 of the A1 Australia series.  Hang 5 for the 2-person teams results...
